Egg Fried Rice

This Chinese style dish is great as a side or add some veg to make it a main course!

Equipment: 
  • Wok / frying pan
  • Saucepan
  • Sharp knife
  • Chopping board
  • Mug
  • Colander
Ingredients: 
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 200g rice
  • 100g frozen peas
  • 4 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 1-2 tsp soy sauce
Simple steps: 
  1. Cook the rice as per packet instructions, drain and leave to one side
  2. Run the frozen peas under warm water to defrost
  3. Beat the egg and sesame oil in a mug
  4. Heat the oil in the wok and add the cooked rice, heat through thoroughly
  5. Add the peas and spring onions, with the soy sauce and cook for 3-4 minutes
  6. Make a well in the middle of the pan and pour in the egg mixture, stir until the egg is cooked then mix with the rest of the ingredients
